Direct answer

What should the buyer send first?

Do not choose EPDM, NBR, PTFE, metal or another seat material from a product name alone; provide the service conditions and project requirements for confirmation.

Standards and certificate availability are confirmed separately for the quoted product and project scope.

Describe the medium before naming a material

Provide the medium name and, where relevant, concentration, contaminants, solids, cleaning agents or process changes stated by the buyer. Include normal and maximum temperature and pressure conditions.

Material compatibility depends on the complete service context and the exact material grade or compound. A short label such as EPDM, NBR, PTFE or stainless steel is not a complete engineering approval.

Separate every sealing component in the RFQ

Identify which component the material requirement applies to: seat, liner, O-ring, gasket, packing, stem seal or another item. Different components in one valve can use different materials.

For a replacement or interchange inquiry, send the original model, component drawing, dimensions and service record available to the buyer. Final interchangeability remains subject to technical confirmation.

Record the confirmation result in the quotation

The quotation should identify the offered material for each required component and list any remaining confirmation item. Required certificates, test reports and approvals should have an explicit availability status tied to the offered product.

RFQ Checklist

  1. Valve type, model and sealing component name
  2. Medium and buyer-supplied composition information
  3. Normal and maximum temperature and pressure conditions
  4. Required material grade, compound or project specification
  5. Cleaning, flushing, sterilization or contamination conditions
  6. Required standard, approval, certificate and report list
  7. Quantity and whether the request is for a complete valve or spare part

Unknown fields can be marked for confirmation. Do not replace a missing project requirement with an assumption.

Buyer Questions

Can seat material be selected from the valve type alone?

No. Provide the medium, temperature, pressure, cleaning conditions and project requirements for material confirmation.

Does an EPDM or PTFE description prove a compliance certificate is available?

No. Material description and certificate availability are separate facts and must be confirmed for the quoted component and product.

How should an unknown material requirement be recorded?

Mark it for technical confirmation and provide the known service conditions instead of inserting a guessed material.

Use the project-specified standard and edition. The links below identify official standards organizations; they do not prove that a listed BAODUN product has a certificate or approval.

Send the Requirement for Review

Share the known specification, quantity, destination, and document list so the product scope can be confirmed before quotation.
